Website Value to Internet Marketing Services
Let’s talk today about the value of a website to your Internet Marketing Services and how it increases the potential value of your business.
In layman’s terms, your website becomes your online store. You can have it designed any way you want, with text, images and video clips. What ever you want you can have created in to your website.
Now, this is where most business owners and inexperienced web designers and marketers fail. You see, it’s not about how flashy your website is, or how many pictures and videos and products and “stuff” you have on your website. It is all about your “intent” on what you want your website to do. This is one of the most valuable internet marketing services that you will have so you need to get it right.
In most cases, you will want your visitor to do one thing. That is either buy your product or service, OR leave their name and email address so that you can keep in contact with them. Why would you want their name and email if they aren’t going to buy? A very clever question I would say. The answer, is so that you can maintain contact with that visitor, who is now a Prospect. You will send valuable information to that prospect and ocassionally offer something of value that they might like to purchase.
Now, once they purchase you move them from the Prospect box in to the client box. Now I’m getting ahead of myself. That is another system that gets really exciting for you the business owner. Another one of the many internet marketing services that you will have at your disposal to increase the value of your business on the internet.
Anyway, back to the website. So it’s not all about flash and dash. It’s about structuring your website to have the necessary tools or program software to do what you want it to do.
Your Website is your first point of contact with a visitor. In internet terms, you have around 5-7 seconds to capture that visitor’s attention and keep them on your site. You need to create instant rapport and begin building a relationship with that visitor. You need to create a relationship of trust so they will feel comfortable buying from you.
We recommend a Headline that is going to grab their attention. Something that makes them stop for that brief second and wonder what you have to offer.
We recommend a short video with a brief explanation of who you are, and how you are solving a problem for your visitor. They don’t want to be sold to, they want a solution to the problem that they have that caused them to look on the internet for your product or service. Sales talk doesn’t cut it on the internet. Offering a solution to their problem does. You might even have a video of a satisfied customer who has used your product or service. Social Proof is the most powerful recommendation you can get.
Your website should have good quality text explaining the problems that people suffer and the solution that you provide. If an average 14 year old can understand it, then it’s good enough. Stay away from technical, complicated language as that will scare most people awy.
If you don’t have a video of yourself, try using an image. People want a visual connection with who they are buying from. A photo or video will really help in that regard.
A strong call to action should be placed strategically throughout the page if you are only selling a product or service. If that is the action that you want your visitor to take, then tell them. Make sure the first call to action is placed in the top part of your website before the visitor has to scroll down. This is the area we call “above the fold”. If you’re asking for their name and email, then have that above the fold also.
Make sure you have good photos and that all of them are named. Have good clear headings and sub headings. Make sure that all the written content is relevant to the theme of your website.
Most importantly, make sure your website is Optimized for the Search Engines. You don’t need to know how to do this, just make sure that it is done. This will help the likes of Google find you and rank you according to it’s criteria, otherwise called “algorithms”. Again, don’t worry about what it means, just know that it is important.
Well that’s enough for today. As usual, pass this on to anybody you think might find it of value. Add your name and primary email in the box at the top. Register and leave a comment. We have only scratched the surface of internet marketing services.
